"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10)
At St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, we are committed to delivering high-quality Relationships and Health Education (RHE) in line with the teachings of the Catholic Church. Our approach is fully aligned with the Department for Education (DfE) guidance, which can be accessed here:

To support the delivery of this important curriculum, St Mary’s is working in partnership with Ten:Ten Resources, a programme widely used across Catholic schools in England. The Life to the Full Plus programme has been approved by both the Catholic Education Service and the Birmingham Diocese to ensure it meets statutory requirements while remaining faithful to the teachings of the Church.
What is Life to the Full Plus?
Life to the Full Plus is our enhanced programme for Relationships and Health Education (RHE) and Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE). It is designed to meet statutory requirements while reflecting our Catholic ethos.
What will children learn?
- Respectful relationships and friendship
- Health and well-being, including physical and mental health
- Keeping safe, online and offline
- Growing and changing, understanding body changes and emotions
- Economic well-being and making good choices
- Catholic understanding of love, family, and dignity of the person
Parents and carers are warmly invited to access the Life to the Full Parent Portal, where you can view lesson content, videos, and supporting materials. Please contact the school for login details and further information.

Our School’s Approach
We follow the Life to the Full Plus programme using two pathways to ensure age-appropriate learning:
- EYFS: Pathway #3 – 1-year cycle over 3 terms
- Years 1–6: Pathway #2 – 2-year cycle over 3 terms
This structure allows us to deliver the full curriculum in a way that supports children’s development at every stage.
