Academic Mentor (Temporary contract until August 2023)
Monday to Friday: 32.5 hours per week
Required: As soon as possible
Starting Salary: £19,000 (or £21,000 if you hold a university degree)
As part of the National Tutoring programme (NTP), we are looking to employ an Academic Mentor to work with pupils from Year 1 upwards. You will work alongside teachers and members of the Senior Leadership Team to determine the needs of our learners and how to overcome their barriers. Your role will be to use data analysis to plan and implement intervention support either individually to small groups of up to six children whose education has been impacted by the pandemic. You will focus primarily on developing Maths and English skills, building on children’s confidence and understanding, to support them in reaching age-related expectations or above. Training facilitated by Education Development Trust will be provided.
To become an Academic Mentor, you will need:
- To register with the NTP and complete their screening process:
- A degree or equivalent, OR;
- Three A-levels at A - C grade AND a minimum of Grade 4 (grade C equivalent) in English and maths at GCSE level
