Summer 2 2026

Building the Kingdom: Stewardship

This half term, we continue our journey through the Catholic Social Teaching principle of Stewardship, recognising our responsibility to care for God’s creation and for one another. Pupils are reminded that all life is sacred and that we are called to protect and nurture the world around us with respect, compassion and responsibility.

Stewardship challenges us to think carefully about how we live, how we use resources, and how our actions affect others. It encourages pupils to act with care for the environment, to support those in need, and to make thoughtful choices that promote the wellbeing of both present and future generations.

Through this theme, children are invited to reflect on how their actions, both big and small, can help to build God’s Kingdom by caring for our common home and supporting others.

Spiritual Foundation

Our learning continues to be rooted in scripture and the belief that God calls us to live thoughtfully, guided by the Holy Spirit.

Scripture reminds us:

“Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20:22)

Through the gift of the Holy Spirit, we are guided to listen carefully, make wise decisions, and grow in understanding of what is right and good.

The Church teaches that stewardship involves attentiveness to the needs of the world and discernment in the choices we make. It calls us to reflect deeply, act responsibly, and respond with love to God’s call.

Through prayer, scripture, and reflection, pupils will develop the habits of pausing, listening, and thinking carefully about how they can live as responsible stewards.

Whole-School Virtues

For the second half of the summer term, we focus on the Jesuit virtues of Attentive and Discerning.

Pupils in our school are growing to be . . .

Attentive to their experiences, noticing the needs of others and reflecting on what is happening in their lives.

Discerning in the choices they make, thinking carefully about what is right and how their actions affect others.

These virtues encourage pupils to:

Pause and reflect before acting

Listen carefully to others and respond with kindness

Think about the impact of their choices

Use their gifts wisely and with purpose

Show courage in doing what is right

Living Our Community Spirit

Our commitment to stewardship continues to guide pupils in caring for creation, supporting others, and making thoughtful, responsible decisions. This half term, children will deepen their understanding of how being attentive and discerning helps them to live out their faith in meaningful ways.

Throughout this half term, pupils will explore these values through key events and experiences:
